  • Do I need to be home to accept my delivery?
    It is preferred that someone be home to accept the meal prep delivery to ensure food quality. All temperature-controlled items must be refrigerated within 30 minutes of delivery to avoid any risk of food poisoning. DWC will never leave food on the ground to be exposed to the elements.

  • What are the payment requirements for your catering services?
    A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking. The remaining balance is due 15 days before the event. Payments are accepted via credit/debit card, Square, PayPal, and Zelle.
  • What if I need to make a last-minute change to the menu or guest count?
    Changes must be submitted at least 10 days before the event. Last-minute changes may not be accommodated or may incur additional fees.

    Payment on file will be charged a 2nd time, and if it doesn’t go through 24hrs before the pickup/delivery date this may impact if services are fulfilled. If there is no communication with DWC regarding completing the payment, the order will be cancelled.
  • What type of payments do you accept?
    DWC accepts all major credit cards, PayPal and Square as payment methods.
  • How does your referral program work?
    Referrals are the pulse of this business and the more referrals DWC acquires, the more we're able to give back. The referral program simply requires you to sign up, set up an account and you will receive a link that you can share with your friends and family. Each time someone uses your link and/or promo code, your discount percentage increases. For more information, please visit the referral program page.
  • Do you offer gift cards?
    At this time, gift cards are not offered. However, you are more than welcome to gift meals to someone. Please specify in delivery/pick-up scheduling notes if the meals prepared will be gifted. You can also participate in our loyalty program to gain rewards towards meals and other perks we offer.
  • Can I get a refund?
    Unfortunately, due to food purchasing and preparation, Damn What's Cooking has a strict no refund policy for goods and services provided. However, in the event of unforeseen circumstances, we will work with you. Please review our refund policy in its entirety under our terms and conditions.
  • How much are your delivery fees and what are they based on?
    Delivery fees start at a standard flat rate fee of $5 and requires a minimum order of $50. DWC delivery services are limited to a 10 mile radius from Charlotte, NC, with an option of extended delivery at a rate of $1/mile. Maximum mileage is 15 additional miles.
  • Do I need to be home to accept my delivery?
    It is preferred that someone be home to accept the meal prep delivery to ensure food quality. All temperature-controlled items must be refrigerated within 30 minutes of delivery to avoid any risk of food poisoning. DWC will never leave food on the ground to be exposed to the elements.
  • When will I be charged for a meal delivery?
    The delivery fee will be included and charged at the time of ordering.
  • What type of packaging are my weekly meals packaged in?
    Meals are pre-packaged in microwave and freezer-safe containers. Some items such as dressings and toppings may be packaged separately to ensure freshness of other ingredients.
  • What comes in each delivery?
    Each delivery comes with the selected number of meals for the week- pre-packaged in resealable and microwave/freezer-safe containers.
  • How do I reschedule my weekly meal?
    Weekly meal skipping/rescheduling is only offered with meal subscriptions. At the moment, DWC does not offer the option to skip meals. If you do not want to receive weekly meals, simply refrain from ordering that particular week.
  • How long will my ingredients stay fresh in transit?
    All temperature-controlled items must be refrigerated within 30 minutes of delivery to avoid any risk of food poisoning.
  • What is my weekly cutoff date and time to make changes to my order?
    The last day to make changes to meal plan orders is Tuesday (the next day) at 11:59PM.
  • How can I get my meals if you don’t deliver to my area?
    If our delivery services do not cover your area, we offer pickup services with multiple locations.
  • What days will DWC deliver on?
    DWC delivers on Saturdays. Estimated delivery times will be 24 hours before delivery. Please keep in mind delivery times and days may be subjected to change depending on weather conditions and other circumstances.
  • Are the meals prepared & ready or frozen?
    Meals are prepared and ready to eat once reheated. Reheating times may vary based on the type of dish. Meals may be refrigerated for up to 5 days for optimal freshness. Some meals may be frozen and stored in the container for up to 2 months. Chef will advise which meals may not be frozen.
  • Is there a set menu to choose from if I don’t want anything custom?
    Yes. You will have access to a curated selection of set menus. If you prefer not to create a fully custom menu, you can choose from our existing options that have been designed to deliver a balanced and memorable dining experience.
  • What kind of cuisines do DWC offer?
    Chef Mariesha Jackson is inspired by a range of culinary traditions. Our offerings include Caribbean, Soul Food, Mexican, and Italian cuisines among others. The flexibility of our menus allows us to blend influences and tailor the experience to your taste.
  • How does the private chef services work?
    Your private chef experience transforms your home into an exclusive dining destination. After an initial consultation (by phone or in person), Chef Mariesha Jackson works with you to craft a personalized menu from our full range of offerings. The service includes the chef’s expertise plus an optional team of professional servers and kitchen staff who will assist with setup, service, and complete cleanup, ensuring an intimate, restaurant‐quality dining experience for small gatherings (typically up to 15 guests). For gatherings of 5+, additional staff may be required for best quality service.
  • Do I have to provide the ingredients?
    No. For a private chef experience, Chef Jackson sources and provides all ingredients as part of the service. If you prefer to supply any items, that can be discussed during the consultation.
  • How much does a private chef cost?
    Our private chef services are priced on a per-person basis according to your selected menu. Final pricing will depend on your chosen courses, ingredient selections, and staffing requirements.
  • Does decor come with your private chef services?
    Decor is not included as a standard part of the private chef service. The focus is on the culinary experience and personalized dining; however, we can provide recommendations or coordinate with trusted vendors if you’d like assistance with decor.
  • What if I need this service for multiple days?
    Private chef services can be extended to multiple days. In such cases, we will adjust the menu and pricing to accommodate your event’s duration. Please contact us directly to discuss your specific needs and schedule.
  • What does the setup include?
    The setup includes table arrangements, food presentation, serving stations, and optional staff at an additional cost for service and cleanup. Please let DWC know at the time of booking if there is a theme, and what materials will be provided on site such as the number of tables and chairs, etc.
  • What are the additional costs for staff if I wanted that option?
    Staff costs depend on the event size, service complexity, and duration. Additional service staff, such as servers and kitchen assistants, are available for an extra fee.
  • What are the payment requirements for your catering services?
    A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking. The remaining balance is due 15 days before the event. Payments are accepted via credit/debit card, Square, PayPal, and Zelle.
  • What if I need to make a last-minute change to the menu or guest count?
    Changes must be submitted at least 10 days before the event. Last-minute changes may not be accommodated or may incur additional fees.
  • What type of event coordination do you offer?
    DWC offers full event catering coordination, including customized menus, setup, service staff (if needed), and cleanup to ensure a seamless experience for events like weddings, corporate gatherings, and private parties.
  • What’s the difference between family-style and buffet style catering?
    Family-style catering serves food in large dishes placed on the tables, allowing guests to share and pass food around. This type of catering is usually delivered/dropped off and serving staff is not utilized. Buffet-style catering features a self-serve or staff-served setup where guests walk up to a buffet table and select their food from a variety of options. This type of catering is usually delivered/dropped off and serving staff may be requested for an additional cost.
  • What is the cancellation policy for your catering services?
    30+ days before the event: Full deposit is retained. 30 days or less before the event: Refunds may be given minus expenses incurred and full deposit is retained. Within 14 days of the event: The deposit and additional expenses may be charged.
  • How do you select the food?
    Menus are crafted based on client preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal availability. Customization is available to meet specific needs.
  • How much does catering cost per person?
    Depending on the type of catered event, costs per person can start at $20 - $25 per person, depending on menu selection and the complexity of the event. Prices may also vary based on ingredient costs, preparation complexity, and service needs.
  • Is my price based on the food options I choose?
    Yes, catering prices depend on the selected menu items, event complexity, and service style.
  • What if I want a food item that’s not in season?
    We strive for client satisfaction, however, we know that some circumstances are unavoidable. If a food item is not in season, we will work with the client to find a suitable replacement or modification to the menu.
